Home Energy Assistance/Emergency Crisis Program
From triple-digit heat in the summer to freezing temperatures in the winter, Fresno County residents are forced to use their air conditioning and heating system in order to maintain a comfortable setting in the home.
This, in turn, leads to costly and sometimes unaffordable heating/cooling bills.
Whether there is 48-hour shut off notice or an expensive bill, EOC's Home Energy Assistance and Energy Crisis Intervention programs (HEAP/ECIP) help low-income Fresno County residents pay up to $349 of their energy bill, or provides them with wood, propane or oil. Individuals/families may only apply for this program once a year.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for HEAP and ECIP, applicants must:
- be a Fresno County resident
- be low-income
- have a valid social security card
- provide current income verification (pay stubs of previous 6 weeks)
- present personal ID such as a driver's license
- provide pages 1-3 of current energy bill or 48-hour notice
