Nurturing Adolescent Parenting Skills
Parents are the first and most important teachers in their child's life.

The Nurturing Adolescent Parenting Skills program, offered to teen parents and students attending EOC's School of Unlimited Learning, teaches youth developmentally appropriate practices to stimulate infant/toddler development in the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive domains.

Students are mentored in the understanding of the learning process, are instructed in the ways in which parents can enhance their child's development, and work on life strategy skills to obtain positive results for the future.  They also benefit from information and presentations provided by a variety of resources as well as community referrals.

The Nurturing Adolescent Parenting Skills program includes a parenting class and a lab component and is taught at the Early Head Start Child Development Center in downtown Fresno. Best Practices in Early Care and Education is taught as the basis of the class curriculum.

Nurturing Adolescent Parenting Skills is a First 5 funded program - it's all about the kids.
